Brazil debuted today (24th) in the World Cup in Qatar with a 2-0 victory against Serbia. The victory and the good performance of the Brazilian soccer team were celebrated by a crowd of fans gathered in Vale do Anhangabaú, in the center of São Paulo, at the Arena Brahma Fifa Fan Festival São Paulo. The event sold out 25,000 tickets and featured a screen measuring approximately 1,000 inches, installed next to Viaduto do Chá. Vitória do Brasil excites fans at Vale do Anhangabaú in São Paulo

The result cheered the fans present. “If the selection continues playing what it played today, I think it can give [para ganhar o título]”, said merchant Elizeu Santos at the end of the game. “Our attack is the best in the Cup. No one has as many good strikers as we do,” he added.

The green and yellow shirt and the traditional horns and horns used by the fans continued to be the preferred accessories for those who went to watch the game in the central region of the city. But, unlike the last edition of the World Cup, the fireworks with explosions were much less heard in the center of the São Paulo capital – with some exceptions occurring in the goals of the selection. The artifact has been banned in the state since the second half of last year.

The selection game was also synonymous with work in the central region of São Paulo. Two blocks from the FIFA Fan Festival, on Rua Martins Fontes, a group of motorcyclists, Ifood delivery people, watched the game, between one delivery and another, on the television of a bakery.

“When there is a game in Brazil, the number of delivery people drops, and we get more work. I lost [de ver] a goal. But so far, it’s been paying off,” said delivery driver Fernando Souza.

For those who are off duty, however, the FIFA Fan Festival will continue into the night. A show by Léo Santana is scheduled to start at 8 pm.
