Dozens of relatives who are outside the Huamancaca prison in Huancayo, in search of information about the inmates, were informed by INPE personnel that the visits scheduled for today from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm will be they suspended.
The incident has caused anxiety in the population, so after long hours of waiting, the INPE issued a statement in which it clarifies the facts of the fire and provides a number so that relatives from different parts of Peru can request information about the inmates. .

According to the statement, the fire began at 9:30 at night on Tuesday, October 15, in the shoe workshop of pavilion 2. 30 firefighters, 06 units including tankers and ambulances, 100 police officers, the prosecutor on duty, SAMU, members of the Mantaro Valley Health Network and the Daniel Alcides Carrión Hospital.
Firefighters managed to put out the fire, however, five people lost their lives, apparently due to asphyxiation, and dozens were injured. The INPE provided the number 017148130 to provide information about the relatives, and they also announced that they began investigating the case.
