Visits by lawyers, judicial and medical commissions in La Joya are maintained

After suspending family visits, the General Directorate of the Penitentiary System (DGSP) clarified that visits by lawyers, judicial and medical commissions are maintained as normal in the La Joya Penitentiary Complex.

They reiterated that family visits are temporarily suspended for security reasons until March 3.

They assured that those deprived of liberty transferred between pavilions in La Joya and Sector C of La Nueva Joya will have access to their essential items.

Additionally, they maintained that they guarantee access to drinking water and food to the population deprived of liberty.

They added that values ​​will be received in the scheduled order of visits to avoid crowds.

Note: Family members will be able to take personal hygiene items to the inmates, flip-flops, a change of clothes, a mattress and a lunch box, all according to the list of allowed items where the quantity is detailed. In the case of pavilion 7 where the inmates are freedom from the Chitré penitentiary center, the belongings will be received in the facilities for minors in the city of Chitré at the scheduled time, values ​​that the Penitentiary System will transfer to the capital city.
