Three people were captured after allegedly attacking uniformed officers, including the station commander
Not even the public force is saved from intolerance in Antioquia. In the municipality of Amagaa group of at least ten peopleseveral of them in apparent state of drunkennessallegedly physically and verbally attacked police officers who were carrying out a preventive closure of an establishment in the main park and the market square.
The events occurred around 1:00 a.m. on December 26, 2025when the police units, led by the station commandercarried out public order control tasks. According to the official report, the citizens refused to leave the place and had differences with the uniformed officers, including the station commander.

Faced with what happened, the Secretary of Government and Services of Amagá, Juan David Londoñoexplained that the situation overflowed from the beginning of the procedure.
“Initially these young people knock down the police motorcycle and later, when the uniformed officers exercise authority, this embarrassing event occurs where force is used against them”he pointed out. The official added that, although there are institutional channels to report possible violations of rights, “The call is for us to end these holidays in peace”.

After the events, the National Police captured three peopleaccused of the crimes of violence against public servant and damage to state property. The detainees were placed at the disposal of the Attorney General’s Officewhile the corresponding judicial procedures progress.
He commander in charge of the Antioquia Police Department, Luis Fernando Muñoz Guzmánconfirmed that “a group of people refused to comply with the police order and reacted aggressively, verbally and physically against the uniformed officers, also causing damage to state property. Thanks to timely support, order was restored and the arrests were made”.
The authorities reiterated the call to citizens to respect police work and comply with the provisions of the authorities, especially during the end of year seasonwhen cases of intolerance associated with the alcohol consumption. The case once again turns on the alerts about the citizen coexistence and the respect for authority in public spaces.
