One of the first to react to the news of the death of the presidential candidate, was Álvaro Uribe Vélez, political head of the Democratic Center Partyto which Uribe Turbay was affiliated in recent years.
Through his X account, the former president said that “Evil destroys everything, they killed hope. That Miguel’s struggle be light that illuminates Colombia’s right path.”

For the messages of condolences, former president Iván Duque, who He sympathized with the congressman’s family and with all his loved ones. “Terrorism snatched us a promise from Colombia and a full and transparent leader”he said.
Duke also said that the best tribute that Colombians can make is to honor their legacy, with the unity of purpose and full patriotism: “Colombia cries, but will not give up the criminals who turned off the life of an admirable young man.”

From the Democratic Center, his partner María Fernanda Cabal expressed his pain for Miguel Uribe’s departure And he stressed that their prayers are with their relatives.
“Colombia today loses an entire man, with all the capacities and commitment to help build a better country. God receives it in his glory and, from wherever he is, inspires us to continue reconstructing this nation that today faces his worst times of violence again. Miguel, your example will be the engine to fight tirelessly for Colombia”added the legislator and also presidential candidate.

The councilor of Bogotá, Daniel Briceño, also wrote a message message: “Violence took us to Miguel Uribe Turbay, a father, a good man, a friend, an honest man, an excellent senator and politician. The death of Miguel Uribe is a generational failure for Colombia, his struggle cannot be in vain. May God have him in his holy glory!” .
