Political differences
Although May and López Hernández were politicians close to López Obrador, they have had differences. In Tabasco everyone has their group. One is headed by the current coordinator of the senators Adán Augusto López Hernández, and another by Governor Javier May and which has among its members the head of Infonavit, Octavio Romero, and the brother of the former president, José Ramiro López Obrador.
During the race for Morena’s candidacy for the Presidency of Mexico, May’s group supported Claudia Sheinbaum.
In recent weeks there were rumors that Adán Augusto López Hernández would leave the coordination of the Morena senators, however, President Sheinbaum ruled it out.
“No, Adan is the coordinator, of course it is obviously decided by the Morena senators, but no, Adan is the coordinator, I had not heard the rumor, they are rumors,” the president said at a press conference.
But there was also a gesture for May. The president announced that the security strategy for the entity will be reinforced, after there were voices calling for the resignation of the governor and officials due to the poor results in terms of security.
“Indeed, reinforcements arrived from the Defense and also from the National Guard. And we are working with Governor May to strengthen the strategy, which has to do with serving the young people, the Tabasco residents to be able to solve all their problems and at the same time, ensure that no young person approaches a criminal group (…) Tell the people of Tabasco that the strategy is going to be reinforced and the results are going to be noticed,” he commented on Wednesday in his morning conference.
