Violence hits northern and southern borders of Mexico

Violence hits northern and southern borders of Mexico

What’s happening in Reynosa, Tamaulipas?

Delia Quiroa, activist and defender of Human Rights, founder of the collective of searching mothers “10 de Marzo”, asked through a video spread on social networks for help from the members of the Gulf and Jalisco Nueva Generación cartels to locate the teacher Juan Manuel, who was the victim of a kidnapping in front of his six-year-old daughter,

“Message to the leaders of the Gulf Cartel and the Jalisco Nueva Generación Cartel: We kindly and respectfully address you again, because the Mexican authorities do nothing for the safety of the citizens and because criminal groups that have nothing to do with you enter Reynosa to kidnap good people, they throw their ‘deaf ears’. We know that each of you leads a part of the Tamaulipas border and, as Donald Trump says, ‘If you have the power to remove a president from the Republic in two minutes, you also have the power to help us locate Juan Manuel López Salinas alive and well,” said Delia Quiroa.

On Thursday, the activist explained that the kidnappers had asked the family for a ransom of 3 million pesos, but had only collected 800,000 pesos.

In an interview by Formula RadioDelia Quiroa explained that the teacher kidnapped this Tuesday at his home is also dedicated to the sale of American cars.

After issuing the call, at around 9:00 a.m. on Thursday, the activist reported that after paying the ransom, the teacher was released in Matamoros, but without intervention by the authorities.

“They say that he is fine and that they are grateful that he was not hurt,” said the activist.

Just this Thursday, the Ministry of National Defense (Sedena) reported that, within the framework of the National Public Security Strategy and the federal government’s zero impunity policy, 100 elite members of the Mexican Army’s Special Forces Corps were deployed in Nuevo Laredo, Tamaulipas, in order to reinforce the current operational deployment that is maintained in that municipality.

“The military personnel arrived at the Nuevo Laredo International Airport in a National Guard aircraft with the mission of working closely with local authorities to reduce the illicit activities of criminal groups present in the aforementioned municipality, through joint actions that guarantee freedom, order and public peace,” it was reported.
