Brazilian striker Vinicius Júnior was once again elected the best player in the world this Friday (27), at the Globe Soccer Awards, in a vote carried out jointly by the European Club Association (ECA) and the Players Agents Association (EFAA) , a week after the player was awarded the FIFA The Best Awards for best player.
Vini Jr was awarded a second award from Globe Soccer: best striker of the year. The athlete himself personally received the award today (27), during a gala ceremony in Dubai (United Arab Emirates). Another Brazilian honored was Neymar, awarded the career award at the Globe Soccer Awards.
“I am very happy to receive this award, to be in this place with many stars, who I have always followed from afar. I couldn’t help but thank Real Madrid, my teammates and everyone who worked so that I could be here today,” said Vini Jr.

Before Vini Jr took the stage, Portuguese star Cristiano Ronaldo, chosen by the Globe Soccer Awards as the best active football player in the Middle East, had already praised the Brazilian for his excellent season at Real Madrid. CR7 also spared no criticism of France Football’s Ballon d’Or award, which chose Rodri (Manchester City) as the best player of the year, to the detriment of the Brazilian striker.
“In my opinion, Vinicius deserved to win the Ballon d’Or. It was unfair in my opinion. I say it here in front of everyone. They gave it to Rodrigo, he deserved it too, but Vinicius deserved more. He won the Champions League, scored a goal in the final… The other issues, for me, are not important, when it is deserved, you have to give it to those who deserve it. But this award is always like this. That’s why I love Globe Soccer, because you make honest awards, that’s really good.” , defended Cristiano Ronaldo.
Visibly moved, Vini Jr thanked the Portuguese star, player for Al-Nassr (Saudi Arabia), for his support.
“Cristiano was saying that he believes I’m the best, I do. He’s my idol along with Neymar. I have the honor of receiving the best player of the season award with my two idols looking on. It’s an honor. Thank my teammates, my family, Flamengo who put me in the world. Being recognized is very important”, said the Real Madrid number 7.

Also present at the Globe Soccer Awards ceremony, Neymar, striker for Saudi club Al-Hilal, took to the stage to receive the career honoring award. The number 10 of the Brazilian team continues to recover after a ruptured hamstring suffered at the beginning of November.
“It makes me very happy to be part of this party. I’m very happy, very happy to be among so many stars. It was a very difficult year for me. I hope to be able to return to the field well, 100%, which is what we all like to do”, revealed Neymar, who before the thigh injury, had been out of action for almost a year due to a knee injury.
