Villegas: on 13A the people rescued the constitutional thread

The demonstrations staged between the people and the military, in perfect civic-military union, on that April 13, 2002, was the demonstration that the people returned, in a surprising, telluric, definitive, unusual and extraordinary way, to their privileges to rescue the thread constitutional, highlighted this Wednesday the Minister for Culture, Ernesto Villegas.

During the closing of the Forum against Fascism, which takes place in Caracas, the Minister said that “two decades have passed since that surprising, telluric, definitive, unusual and extraordinary feat, in which the subject people returned to their rights” .

That April 13, “infiltration was combined with betrayal and the mechanisms were activated to depose the Revolutionary Government. Commander Chavez had the military strength to lead an armed resistance”, however he did not.

“Instead of opting for civil war, Chávez declares himself a prisoner president, to save his military personnel, which is why later the young patriotic soldiers began to ask for proof of Chávez’s resignation,” he said.

Given this situation, Villegas continued, “waves of human beings formed, between civilians and soldiers, who surrounded the barracks and the headquarters of the Miraflores Palace. At that moment the traitors saw themselves in check by that civic-military union”.

Villegas narrated that for those days there was a communication, media, ecclesiastical, political and military, psychological apparatus, which caused a stir two days before, with a real trap against the citizens of Venezuela.

For the Minister of Culture, those events were “a rehearsal of what would later be perfected in other parts of the world, here people were called to march, to the Parque del Este, quite far from the center of Caracas, and then from there, in the midst of political tension, an irresponsible leadership ordered Miraflores to march”

The Minister for Culture, Ernesto Villegas, thanked the special guests for attending this forum in Caracas.

“It is a real pleasure to share with the diversity of colleagues who have gathered in the Republic of Venezuela, particularly on a date like this, April 13, 2022, when two decades have passed since that historic deed,” he concluded.
