“In the framework of the foundations of the sentence that will be announced on 3/9, we meet in Plaza Lavalle,” announced a message posted on social networks.

This vigil is given within the framework of the fact that the Federal Oral Court No. 2, which tried and sentenced the Vice President and other defendants in the so-called ‘Road case’, will announce this Thursday the foundations of its verdict and the stage to present appeals before the Federal Chamber of Cassation will be opened for ten business days.

From the political level, the Kirchnerist groups are driving the candidacy of Cristina Fernández de Kirchner, for which they are also organizing a massive event in Avellaneda for this Saturday the 11th.

While the former president will attend this Friday the 10th at the headquarters of the National University of Río Negro, in Viedma to receive an honorary doctorate and will give a presentation entitled “Hegemony or consensus? Rupture of the democratic pact in a bi-monetary economy: inflation and IMF, debt crisis and political fragmentation”.

Shortly after the reading of the verdict, on December 6, the head of the Senate and twice president considered that her conviction is part of a process that is no longer “lawfare or the Judicial Party” but “a parallel State and judicial mafia “.

“I’m not going to be a candidate for anything. Neither for president, nor for senator. My name will not be on any ballot. I finish on December 10 and I’m going back. As I returned on December 10, 2015, to my house, to the same house from which I left on May 25, 2003 to accompany whoever my partner was (Néstor Kirchner),” the former president emphasized on that occasion.

For his part, President Alberto Fernández considered last week before the Legislative Assembly that the Vice President received a sentence “in a simulated trial in which the forms of due process were not taken care of and charges were made that border on the legal absurdity seeking his political disqualification”, in reference to the Highway case.
