A video of TV Brasilfrom the Brazilian Communication Company (EBC)shows Francisco Wanderley Luiz walking in Praça dos Três de Poderes moments before throwing bombs near the Statue of Justice, in front of the Federal Supreme Court (STF) building. Francisco later died after exploding artifacts on his body. 
The author of this Wednesday’s attack (13) even interacted with the team at TV Brasilwho was in the square for a live appearance on the newspaper.
Reporter Manuela Castro said that the team was preparing to go live on the Repórter Brasil news program, when a man approached and stood close to them. She reported that it is common for pedestrians or tourists to watch or take photos out of curiosity to see a news team. According to her, the man realized that the team noticed his proximity.
“He noticed and said: I’m not going to disturb you, no. Don’t worry. I’m going to go behind the camera. Then, he said: I’m not going to go in front of the camera, because I’m very ugly”, reported the reporter.
During the reporter’s live appearance on the news, it is possible to see Francisco walking in the background and closer to the Supreme Court headquarters.

Manuela Castro said she realized that the person responsible for the explosions was the same man who spoke to her because of his clothes.

“What caught my attention was that Francisco was wearing printed pants, very colorful. These pants were recorded in my memory. When I saw the images from the STF [das câmeras de segurança]I was sure he was that observer, who became so close to us. And then I was aware of the danger, the risk that the team and I had”, he stated.
Known as Tiü França, Francisco Wanderley Luiz, 59 years old, died on Wednesday night (13) after detonating explosives in front of the Federal Supreme Court (STF) building. He was also responsible for the explosion of a car parked in Annex 4 of the Chamber of Deputies. The keychain hi candidate for councilor for PL in Rio do Sul, Santa Catarina, in the 2020 elections.
Ex-partner
THE Federal Police investigate the case. Agents went to the house of Daiane Dias, Francisco’s ex-partner. There was a locksmith shop on site. In an informal statement to agents, she said she believed that the explosions were planned by Francisco, as he talked about carrying out this type of action.
When asked by a police officer whether Francisco had said he was going to “kill people” and had a plan, Daiane replied that the target would be the minister of the Federal Supreme Court (STF), Alexandre de Moraes.
“Not people. Alexandre de Moraes and whoever was nearby at the time”, replied the woman. “He said he would kill or kill himself,” he added.
Daiane also stated that she and her ex-partner did not participate in the events on January 8 in Brasília. They were in Rio do Sul at the time.
According to her, Francisco was obsessed with political issues. “He almost drove me crazy. Everyone on the street said: You’re going to go crazy. All he talked about was politics, politics, politics.”
“He wouldn’t kill himself. I would never take his life, unless he had fulfilled his objective. If he died in vain and didn’t kill anyone, it’s because they found out what he was going to do,” he said.
Daiane was taken to the Federal Police station in Lages, where she gave a statement this Thursday (14) and was released. Her cell phone was withheld.
Brother
One of Francisco’s five brothers said he had been obsessed with politics in recent years, participated in highway camps against Lula’s election and was behaving unrecognizably.
“A person with a weak head, if he is not well centered, ends up letting yourself be carried away by hate“, he said in an interview with the team at TV Brasilby phone.
Excited, the brother said that he had not been in contact with Francisco in recent months. According to him, the locksmith was a calm person, however, after the last presidential elections in 2022, he only talked about politics, which made getting along difficult. This situation worsened last year.
He disagrees that Francisco intended to kill Minister Moraes.
