Spokesman for the FP senators regretted that the population was not heard in public hearings
Santo Domingo.- The spokesman for the senators of the Force of the People, Omar Fernándezwarned this Tuesday about the consequences of rushing the debates on the reforms proposed by the Executive branch, with emphasis on the modification to the Magna Carta.
The congressman for the National District established that the absence of consensus and the haste with which the constitutional reform process has been handled could affect the internationally recognized political and legal stability of the Dominican Republic.
He specified that to give legitimacy to the constitutional reform, public hearings had to be approved as proposed by the People’s Force special commission, to hear the opinion of the citizens.
“It is because of the importance of each of these reforms that I believe we must take the time to do them well. This, so that haste, which is a bad advisor, does not prevail over prudence,” he established in an audiovisual broadcast on his social networks.
Fernández recalled that in just a month and a half, reforms have been announced in the constitutional, fiscal, social security, and labor fields. Added to the ordinary projects established by the legislative calendar.
