Intense night for the women’s team of Puerto Rico and Panama at the Félix Sánchez Olympic Stadium. Qualifying the Puerto Rico National Team to the next round of the Concacaf Women’s Under 17 Championship.

After a first half of many scoring chances for Puerto Rico. Especially in the first minutes of games. It wasn’t until the second half that they gained the upper hand and dominance. The first goal was scored by Madison Krakower. After a foul committed by Panama in the penalty area. Panama was not still after the advantage that the Puerto Ricans were taking. The Panamanians were not able to fit any goal. In the 86th minute, the expectations of the Panamanians changed after Rachel Báez scored the second goal for Puerto Rico. A Panama that lacked a few minutes to be able to respond and seek a classification against the Puerto Ricans. Thus, the islanders secured a pass to the quarterfinals.

Along with Puerto Rico is the United States, Mexico and Costa Rica who were the first to qualify for the next round.

The first game of the day at the Félix Sánchez Olympic Stadium, Mexico defeated Guayana 15-0. Then the Americans defending their current championship beat Curacao 11-0. Finally, Costa Rica beat Nicaragua 1-0.
