Diego Domínguez snapped his losing run of WRC3 victories with a confident drive on Sunday’s final stage of EKO Acropolis Rally Greece.
The young Paraguayan led the category in his two previous outings, in Italy and Kenya, but was forced to withdraw both times due to technical problems.
Third time was the charm for Dominguez in Greece, who, after wresting the lead from a struggling William Creighton on Saturday, never relinquished the lead.
A mature driving in the last three stages confirmed his victory in the Ford Fiesta Rally3 category and led Creighton by 49.6 seconds at the end of the test. Epaminondas Karanikolas completed the podium at 44.4 seconds in his debut with the Fiesta, according to the Wordl Rally Champions portal.
Panos Ismailos completed the classification at the end of a weekend full of drama. He was more than 20 minutes away, and most of that time was lost Friday afternoon when the fire extinguisher in his car was activated by a moving windshield wiper.
