The Minister of Social Development will meet this Wednesday at noon with the main picketers to try to unblock the conflict that has been going on for months. In this sense, Victoria Tolosa Paz will seek to maintain the dialogue and avoid a new day of protests.
The piqueteros demand greater food assistance, a salary increase and registered formal work, requests that you will listen carefully Victoria Tolosa Paz to try to reach an agreement.
In this regard, Eduardo Belliboni, leader of the Polo Obrero indicated on his Twitter account: “Tolosa Paz calls us today to meet for our claims. Hopefully it will bring solutions”.
The movements had announced a new day of protests for this Thursday on July 9, in front of the headquarters of the Ministry of Social Development, demanding a “universal opening of programs for all those who need it” and “genuine work in public works”.
The call for the day of protest is advanced by: the Polo Obrero (PO), MTR We Vote to Fight, CUBA-MTR, the May 29 Movement, the Arming Conscience Group, the April 12 MTR, the November 17 Organization, Barrios de Pie- Free from the South, the MST Teresa Vive and the National Piquetero Bloc.
In addition, the MTL Rebelde, the Resistance Front, the Coordinator for Social Change, fractions of the Front of Organizations in Struggle (FOL) and the Darío Santillán Popular Front (FPDS), and FAR Marabunta, among other organizations.
First meeting between picketers and the minister
This will be the first time the minister meet with the piqueteros movements, since his inauguration on October 12. The meeting will be key to trying to unlock a conflict that has lasted for months.
This, since one of the requests of the movements is the opening of more social plans, about which the Government has been emphatic in denying, since it foresees that the plans become a tool to generate genuine employment.
