During the morning of Monday, the constitutional chamber of the Supreme Court of Justice (CSJ) gave two contradictory rulings related to the authorization of service stations. In the first place, they rejected the unconstitutionality action promoted by the Chamber of Paraguayan Fuel Distributors (Cadipac) for which the service stations must be separated by 1,000 meters from each other.
Minutes later, however, the same constitutional chamber gave rise to the action presented by the firm Imperial Compañía Distribuidora de Petróleos y Derivados SA Petroquim SA to enable a service station less than the aforementioned distance.
Given this, Víctor Ríos, minister of the Supreme Court of Justice (CSJ) and member of the constitutional chamber, told 1080 AM that the ruling only has effect for that particular station.
“There is each specific case. It is what corresponds from the constitutional point of view. Since I took office as minister, I have not signed any precautionary measure for Central. This logo is authorized to build his logo on that particular site,” he commented.
