Fifteen families that were affected by a registered fire last Saturday, June 20, on Calle 10 and Domingo Díaz, will be the first option to receive homes in the second phase of the Altos de Los Lagos project.
The Altos de Los Lagos-Second Stage housing megaproject, located in the village of Cristóbal Este, province of Colón, is scheduled to be delivered in the next 90 days, for which the mayor of the district of Colón, Alex Lee, requested the Ministry of Housing and Territorial Planning (MIVIOT) that these families be taken into account to occupy the apartments once deliveries begin.
Lee assured that the MIVIOT gave the victims a letter of commitment in which it is guaranteed that the 15 families will be the first to occupy the houses and in this way they will receive a permanent housing solution; meanwhile the authorities are providing economic aid to these people who lost everything in the incident.
“Together with the community board of Barrio Sur, the Mayor’s Office of Colón, the Governor’s Office and the Ministry of Housing, we have shown solidarity with the victims of the fire on Calle 10 and Domingo Díaz,” said Lee, assuring that this morning they were They handed out money vouchers, valued at $100, so that those affected buy clothes.
He stressed that, tomorrow, the governor of the province, Iracema de Dale, will also deliver $100 more in bonus, to each family so that they can meet their needs.
In addition, milk and pampers were bought for infants, while school children were given backpacks with school supplies.
While the move to Altos de los Lagos is finalized, these families must remain in the place where the fire occurred or seek refuge with relatives or close friends.
