The executive vice president of the Republic, Delcy Rodríguez, affirmed that Venezuela must be prepared to defend its sovereignty in the face of the threat of aggression by the United States.
During the formation of the Comprehensive Base Bolivarian Committee in the Caracas parish of La Pastora, he declared that “those who want to hand over Venezuela’s natural resources and fascist extremism are encountering the insurmountable fist of the organized people. “They won’t be able to with us.”
Rodríguez stressed that the US decided to declare war on the entire planet, “and Venezuela has to be prepared to defend our sovereignty. Who is going to come to give us orders from another country? Nobody, nobody gives us orders. “The only one is the Venezuelan people who are well organized.”
«There is a powerful popular union, which today translates into a popular, police, and military union for the comprehensive defense of the nation. Who can with us? Nobody,” he reiterated.
He also spoke about the lies told as justification for threatening and attacking the country. “For more than two months we have been threatened and the Venezuelan people are following their path in assemblies, working, in entrepreneurship, producing, educating themselves (…) That is the path.”
He ratified that they are prepared to defend Venezuela, one of the actions being promulgation on the eve by the head of state, Nicolás Maduro, of the Law of the Command for the Comprehensive Defense of the Nation.
He emphasized that no one will take away Venezuela’s independence, “so they send their masters to threaten us, what if psychological warfare, what if social networks (…) Here we are at Christmas, we are working, prepared, in militia, exercising Independence 200, ready, but doing our life and guaranteeing what the President has said, we have to be ready at the time of non-armed struggle, but if we have to move on to armed struggle, be prepared.”
Likewise, he recalled that in 2019 the extremist sector created a fictitious self-proclaimed president who is now in Miami, as part of a criminal group that wanted to steal the country’s resources. “This is what they want right now too, to steal oil, gas, gold, metals, our natural wealth, to give them to their masters,” he stressed.
Relevance of the Comprehensive Base Bolivarian Committees
Within the framework of the assemblies to form the Comprehensive Base Bolivarian Committeeshighlighted that “in this process of organizational restructuring of our party, Venezuela enters a new stage that will be more flourishing, guaranteeing our future, hope, peace, development, social happiness.”
He recalled that last weekend alone, more than 145,000 assemblies were held to elect their respective Comprehensive Base Bolivarian Committee. «It is the new territorial structure of our party, where democracy can be consolidated, where leadership is collective, street leadership to have true defense cells. It is a collegiate, collective body, in the defense of our country,” he said.
He specified that more than three million people participated in the aforementioned assemblies, and asserted that the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (Psuv) must represent national interests, “where all Venezuelans see ourselves reflected in a national project (…) the Bolívar project.”
Rodríguez stated that with these assemblies the Venezuelan people are told: “let’s join together, to continue advancing for our country.”
He highlighted the progress that the country has made to consolidate participatory and leading democracy, with communities carrying out projects to attend to the daily life of their streets. In addition, he said that this new organizational restructuring contributes to facing the challenges and to defend Venezuela.
Town organization
For her part, the mayor of Caracas, Carmen Meléndez, highlighted the organization of the people to carry out their processes, working to meet the needs of their respective communities.
Meléndez explained the work that is carried out jointly between the mayor’s office and the Ministry of Public Works, ensuring that “La Pastora is getting more beautiful every day.”
He specified that 82 people participated in that assembly to form the committee, as part of the restructuring process, to continue working on the recovery of La Pastora and the comprehensive defense of the territory.
Likewise, he explained that in Caracas they have 2,652 communities and, through the committees, they will continue to work for the benefit of the people and the defense of the homeland.
