Vice President: Participatory democracy continues to deepen

An “exceptional” choice

Rodríguez said that 33 consecutive elections have been carried out and that this is a sign of “an exceptional choice”, while stressing that, it is difficult to find this type of democracy in some countries of region and the world.

“Tonight the Venezuelan people will be celebrating in all municipalities,” said Rodríguez, in a energetic and optimistic tone.

Rodríguez said that 53 organizations have participated for political purposes in the municipal elections so that the Venezuelan people choose their direct authorities, while thanking international veterans who have attended the country to witness this democratic process.

During his speech, Rodríguez stressed the deepening of the Venezuelan democratic model, emphasizing the participatory nature of the electoral process.

“Our democracy continues to strengthen with each electoral process in which the people decide their destiny,” he said.

Call to active mobilization

The vice president also called for active mobilization and the exercise of the right to vote as a tool for sovereign expression.

“Each vote ratifies the self -determination of the people in the face of external adversities,” he said.

In parallel, the vice president recalled that President Nicolás Maduro announced the realization of a Federal Government Council to meet the immediate projects that are prioritized in the National Popular Youth Consultation.

Fight against fascism

During the municipal election day, the Executive Vice President, said that Venezuela is “at the world avant -garde in the fight against fascism”, highlighting the firmness with which the Venezuelan people have responded to external threats and aggressions.

“The Venezuelan people have remained firm in their fight against fascism, defending democracy with courage and conscience,” Rodríguez said.

The vice president framed municipal elections as a sample of civic resistance to authoritarian models imposed from abroad. He stressed that, despite the attacks, Venezuela continues to strengthen its democratic institutionality.

“Here fascism does not govern, here the people govern through legitimate democratic processes,” he said.

The speech was marked by a combative tone, highlighting the role of Venezuela as an international example in the defense of sovereignty. Rodríguez called on the national unit as a key tool to face the threats of sectors that, according to her, seek to reinstate authoritarian forms of power.

“With our national union we have recovered the economy and we continue to overcome the fascist fence that aims to bend the popular will,” he emphasized.
