The Vice President of the Congress of the Republic, Lady Camones (Alliance for Progress), promotes a motion of censure against the head of the Energy Mines portfolio, Carlos Palacios. Among the reasons that support the initiative is that “it lacks the experience and ability to manage a portfolio that requires participatory leadership.”
“The minister lacks the experience and ability to manage a portfolio that requires participatory, democratic leadership, and career officials with whom dialogue can be held; being his sole merit of having made financial contributions to the government party and held a management position during the management of the former regional governor of Junín, Vladimir Cerrón Rojas, sentenced for committing crimes against the public administration”the document reads.
“During the management of the Ministry of Energy and Mines, operations as important as Las Bambas or Cuajone have been greatly harmed, including the company’s own workers.s, for the time of stoppages causing damages, not only to workers and companies, but also to the respective regional governments, such as that of Apurímac and Moquegua, which have stopped receiving income from the exploitation of resources and the canon “add the writing.
The motion bears the signatures of 14 legislators from different benches, including Roberto Chiabra, Carlos Anderson, Alejandro Soto, José Williams and Edward Málaga-Trillo. 33 signatures are required for formal filing.
On June 16, Diego Bazán (Avanza País) presented a motion with the same purpose, which also had the signature of Camones.
Censorship of Betssy Chavez
This Thursday, the Popular Force bench presented a motion of censure against the Minister of Labor, after last Thursday, May 12, she went to the Chamber of Congress to answer the questioning statement raised by the parliamentarians.
The initiative is based on the fact that Chávez Chino would not have complied “with suitably and fully answering the questions raised” during his questioning in the plenary session of Congress, for which they indicate that with this he demonstrated “his inability to manage and negligence in his actions ” and therefore should not continue with his position within the Executive.
The document details that the head of the Ministry of Labor and Employment Promotion (MTPE) would not have answered satisfactorily the questions that were made to her in reference to the air traffic controllers’ strike, which caused thousands of people to miss their flights during the last Holy Week.
