The Vice President of the Republic, Raquel Peña, met privately with Pope Francis last Thursday during his visit to Vatican City.
So far the issues discussed by the vice president with the Pope are unknown.
The official will also meet with the Secretary of State of the Holy See, Cardinal Pietro Parolin.
Prior to his meeting with the deputy president, he was with the ambassador of the Dominican Republic in the country, Tony Raful, with whom he discussed the interest of investors in the island.
Peña assured that in this meeting he will address issues related to the cultural richness of Italy, the strengthening of the historical relations that unite both countries and the valuable contributions made by the Dominican community in this nation.
