The Executive Vice President of the Republic, Delcy Rodríguez, said Monday, on the march to celebrate the 71 years of birth of former president Hugo Chávez, who, “he was a ray of light for this town.”
Rodríguez also highlighted the president’s electoral victory, Nicolás Maduro, last year, remembering that, “the Venezuelan people ratified President Maduro, but that it was also an exercise in sovereignty.”
In the march in honor of Chávez, and Maduro’s electoral victory, Rodríguez recalled that the people ratified his own will.
The march, which departed from the countryside in Caracas, was headed by Diosdado Cabello, general secretary of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV), the Minister of Youth, Sergio Lartaro, the first vice president of the National Assembly, Pedro Infante and the also deputies, Rabexa Poleo, Genesis Garvett and Giuseppe Alessandrello.
It is planned, according to the schedule, that the march arrives at the Miraflores Palace, where it will be received by President Nicolás Maduro, to celebrate the results of the municipal elections this Sunday.
Fascism has been defeated by the force of the people
Rodríguez, offered blunt statements after the recent elections of July 27, reaffirming that “the Venezuelan people have defeated fascism.”
During his speech broadcast by Venezolana de Televisión, Rodríguez stressed that “yesterday’s victory was a defeat for fascism, for those who wanted to impose hatred and violence in our homeland. The people chose peace, democracy and social justice.”
Rodríguez insisted that this electoral triumph not only represents a political victory, but an act of sovereignty:
“What happened yesterday was historical. The people expressed themselves with courage, with dignity. We have reaffirmed the Bolivarian road.”
Called to unity and institutional respect
The vice president also called for the national and international recognition of the popular mandate.
“Today we demand respect for the sovereign will of the Venezuelan people. That our decision is respected, because it was the people who spoke, without external impositions or blackmail,” he said, while highlighting the role of President Chávez’s legacy and the leadership of President Nicolás Maduro.
“This victory is also from Commander Chávez. His light continues to guide this rebel and free people. And with President Maduro we continue to defend our homeland,” he said before hundreds of thousands who accompanied the march to commemorate these dates, which are intertwined with the Electoral victory This Sunday.
In parallel, Cabello described as “historical” the participation of the people in the municipal elections of 27-J. “The people spoke clearly, with forcefulness and with revolutionary conscience. This is a victory of the organization, the unity and the Chavista legacy.”
Cabello stressed the importance of the democratic exercise carried out by millions of Venezuelans, while reiterating the one that the revolutionary leadership remains firm. “
“The 27-J was not just one more choice, it was a demonstration of homeland commitment. The people chose clearly, as the protagonist of their destiny, this triumph does not relax us, we have to continue building the homeland, neighborhood by neighborhood, commune by commune,” he said.
The political leader also highlighted the organizational role of the PSUV in the election day. “We unfold strongly, with conscience, with the Chavista heart high. We have shown that when the PSUV mobilizes, the people respond.”
“The key is to work with humility, listen to the people and not lose sight of the Bolivarian horizon. 27-J marks the way,” he said.
For his part, Pedro Infante, stressed that the march made in Caracas commemorated the first anniversary of the popular victory of the president, Maduro, “symbolizing independence, sovereignty and dignity of the Venezuelan people. The mobilization in the streets of the capital expressed the pride of having defeated fascism and violence a year ago.”
“The last 7 electoral processes have been fundamental to defeat fascism,” said Infante.
Young people mobilized throughout the country to choose their projects
In this same context, the Minister for Youth, Sergio Lartaro, said that millions of young people mobilized on July 27 to choose their projects.
“(…) young people mobilized throughout the country to choose their projects, their dreams, their realities,” he said, while highlighting the organizational deployment and youth commitment. “There was no parish, community or high school where youth did not say present. His vote was a clear, direct and visionary response.”
The minister also recognized the role of the young Venezuela mission with more than 20 thousand youth assemblies held, “Venezuelan youth is building its own road map towards social transformation.”
Lotartaro, reaffirmed the commitment of the Bolivarian government to accompany these processes. “This is just the beginning. Now it’s time to materialize each initiative, with community work and vision. Youth is ready to lead.”
For its part, the General Secretary of the Youth of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela, Greece Colmenares, said that Venezuelan youth mobilized to participate in the great march called in Caracas.
“We celebrated the life of our Commander Chávez, 71 years since he reached this earthly plane and began to sow the conscience and heart of men and women. And today we are celebrating life because the young people Commander Chávez returned our lives and returned our lives to this homeland,” said Colmenares during the activity.
Colmenares reported that more than 37 thousand projects were presented to debate throughout the country, during consultation, and more than 80 % of the results were already loaded in the electoral system.
Meanwhile, the head of government of Caracas, Nahum Fernández, said that “Maduro has complied with protecting the legacy of Hugo Chávez.”
“President Maduro has complied with protecting Chávez’s legacy. He has defended him with courage, with loyalty and with the people by his side,” he said, while claiming the figure of the revolutionary leader as the engine of the Venezuelan political struggle.
“The people are here because Chavez taught us to resist, not to give up. His thought is still alive, guiding every step we take,” he said.
The leader assured that the revolutionary government continues to strengthen itself and referred to international attacks against Venezuela, in which he assured, it is a new stage of the revolution with Nicolás Maduro in front.
“There is no setback here. The economic war, the sanctions and the media lies have not been able to break the Venezuelan people. And they will not.”
