Technologist in Administration and Accounting can be taken from Cerro Largo
At the end of the year, an informative and explanatory meeting was held about the new career that the Cerro Largo University House will offer, probably starting next March, to the young people of the department.
The efforts that Professor Magallanes began more than a year ago, with contacts with the Dean of Economic Sciences and the Rector of UDELAR himself, are giving the first results.
“This year there will be an extension of the Technologist in Administration and Accounting that is already being taught at the Casa de la Universidad de Treinta y Tres” confirmed the Mr. Mauricio De Souza to THE DIARY PROFESSIONAL.
“There are students from Cerro Largo who are taking it, what’s more, there are already graduates, Accountants, students who spent their entire careers going to take midterms and exams at the Casa de la Universidad de Treinta y Tres, very close here, 100 kilometers away. nothing else” commented. APPROVAL FROM THE DEAN OF ECONOMIC SCIENCES
“There is the political will of the Dean of the Faculty of Economic Sciences, it has already passed and been approved by the Northeast Council, it still needs to go through the CURE Council, also by the Faculty of Economic Sciences and by the CDC, but we believe that this will be possible” De Souza said optimistically.
“What we can say is that they can register and that as of today they have to take that midterm and that exam in Treinta y Tres. “We are very close and have many bus frequencies, aspects that make it viable.” he stated. “As the classes are through Zoom, virtual, students will be able to take them from their homes, but we are also creating a space so they can do it from here” advancement. “The goal is to see many students going up and down stairs, using the physical space of the institution.”
A VERY HIGH DEMAND
This is an educational proposal that will have a high demand if the number of students who have higher degrees at UTU is taken as a starting point. “At the informative talk there were approximately 60 interested people, about 20 in person and many via Zoom from inside the department” revealed the Director of the House of the University of Cerro Largo.
“Having the possibility of doing a Technologist in Administration and Accounting, which after a year and a half more allows access to the title of Public Accountant, which can be taken via Zoom, is a very significant change to expand the possibilities for students in the interior ” said Mauricio De Souza.
Two Public Accountants, who studied at Treinta y Tres, participated in this meeting to narrate their experiences. “They made their careers connecting via Zoom from Cerro Largo, traveling to give midterms and exams to Treinta y Tres.”
IN THE CONSTRUCTION OF NEW OPPORTUNITIES
He insisted that since February the efforts will be intensified so that these midterms and those exams can be given in Melo. “In fact, we are already taking some midterms and exams from the Faculty of Economic Sciences. We did it in July and December in cases of students who are studying in Montevideo but who were on break in Melo. They signed up and we took them here in CUCEL” reported.
