Veronika Mendoza ruled on the complaint made by congresswoman Ruth Luque, who alerted through his social networks that members of the Peruvian National Police went to his current address to verify that he lives in the aforementioned home. The former presidential candidate described the measure as an “adjustment” by the President Dina Boluarte and the head of the Council of Ministers, Alberto Otárolafor the support that the parliamentarian provides to the protesters who are requesting the departure of the head of state, the closure of Congress and the convening of a constituent assembly.
“PNP personnel carried out an adjustment in the house of congresswoman Ruth Luque Ibarra, who has ensured the rights of protesters and presented, together with other congressmen, an accusation of constitutional violation against Dina Boluarte and Alberto Otárola,” Mendoza said.
The former leader of Juntos por el Perú —in her Twitter account— attached a photograph of the security cameras of the house of the Parliamentarian Luque. It shows the presence of a PNP agent. On this, he rejected the measure and asked to denounce the “practices” that violate the rights of citizens.
“These are just a few examples of the adjustment and systematic intimidation that operators of this civic-military government are carrying out to silence, stigmatize and ‘eliminate’ their opponents, all this validated and reinforced by a sustained media campaign of terruqueo”, denounced.
“It is urgent to denounce and reject these practices that attack not only sectors critical of the regime, but also against what little we have left of the rule of law,” he added.
Questions to the Government of Dina Boluarte
Veronika Mendoza He also recalled the statements of Congressman Jose Cueto in which he points out that a strategy was underway to “eliminate” opponents of the current regime.
“Indeed, for several days, members of the PNP, and in particular of the Dircote, are carrying out a series of acts of intimidation against citizenssocial and political leaders who express their rejection of the repression and other decisions of the Government and Congress”, he questioned.
Along these lines, he recalled the raid carried out by the PNP at the premises of the Peasant Confederation of Peru and criticized that it was carried out “without justification or fiscal presence.”
“The possession of objects was planted with the pretense of accusing peasants housed there as terrorists. He cordoned off the Nuevo Perú premises and detained militants and protesters staying there for several hours,” he said.
