Vera will attend Congress to minimize spill in Talara

Óscar Vera.

He will not be able to evade his responsibility, as he did three days ago, when he had to escape from a meeting with the victims of the tragedy. The general manager of Petroperú, Óscar Vera Gargurevich – a member of César Acuña’s party, Alliance for Progress (APP) – will respond in Congress for his regrettable statement that the spill that occurred in Talara, caused by the state oil company, has had “ “a smaller impact” than that caused by Repsol in January 2022.

“When we say that it has been a minor impact (to the Ventanilla spill caused by Repsol), it is not the appropriate word, because impact is impact. What we are referring to is that the volume of hydrocarbon that has come out of the pipe that has had the failure is a smaller volume, because the tank was never opened, it is intact, and that is in the information that “the supervisory entities are taking over,” said Vera Gargurevich during her presentation at a virtual work table, organized by Fuerza Popular congressman, Eduardo Castillo.

Due to his attempt to minimize the tragedy, Congressman Castillo sent a request to the president of the Energy Commission, Paul Gutiérrez, to call an emergency session for the manager of the state oil company to explain everything about what happened in the Talara Sea.

Perú21 published a report in which it reported that Vera, that same Friday the 27th, before being at the aforementioned virtual work table, experienced moments of tension in the Lobitos district, in Talara, when she had to hastily leave a meeting. with residents and local authorities, who were upset because he did not propose an immediate compensation plan for the damages suffered.
