“It is necessary to put a stop to this situation, but for that, it is necessary to resume investments in public policies to combat violence against women. We need new specialized police stations to be built and to start working full time and with easy access for women”, said Vera.

The candidate also proposed the creation, in all Brazilian cities, of new reference centers and shelters for victims. “Violence against women is a crime, so we depend on punishing perpetrators,” she added.

The candidate had on today’s agenda a meeting with the PSTU State Directory in Aracaju, an interview with Rádio Jornal in Aracaju and a meeting with militancy and campaign supporters at the headquarters of the Oil Workers’ Union in Aracaju.
