In a campaign in Aracaju, the PSTU candidate for the presidency of the Republic, Vera Lucia, proposed today (19) measures to fight hunger and social inequality in the country. Among them, the nationalization of the 100 largest companies in the country.
“Today, what is produced by the working class is appropriated by a small set of large companies that control both production and distribution. These are big monopolies that dominate the economy, not to meet the needs of the population, but for their own profits,” he said.
The candidate also defended the creation of a progressive tax, with exemption for workers who earn up to 10 minimum wages. “The working class produces everything there is: from the profit stolen by the standards to the tax it pays and, most of the time, evades. To make matters worse, the outdated Income Tax table has been deepening the already unequal tax structure,” she said.
Vera also proposed the end of tax exemptions for large companies and the implementation of agrarian reform. “We are going to ensure that the best land is destined for the food of our people and not for the profit of landowners”.
The PSTU candidate’s agenda included, in addition to a visit to the Sergipe capital, online interviews for TV Diamantina (MG) and the Jovem Cronistas channel.
