The PSTU candidate for the Presidency of the Republic, Vera Lucia Pereira, reaffirmed today (28) the proposals to double the minimum wage and to reduce the weekly working day to 30 hours. The measures, according to the candidate, aim to fight hunger and unemployment.
The candidate also proposed the nationalization of the 100 largest companies in the country and the entire agribusiness chain. “You have to ensure that children go to school to learn, not to eat. Because in everyone’s house there will be food. We are going to do this by nationalizing agribusiness, the food industry and the big supermarket chains,” she said.
Vera highlighted that the country needs more than six million houses, the implementation of basic sanitation in about 50% of the territory, and improvements in public transport, infrastructure, schools and hospitals.
“[Para resolver essas questões]we need to organize all the work that needs to be done in society with the existing needs of the population”, he said.
