The Human Rights Committee of the political organization Vente Venezuela advocated this Friday, September 6, for the release of María Oropeza, state coordinator of the campaign command of Edmundo González Urrutia in Portuguesa, one month after her arrest.
“It has been a month since the arbitrary detention of María Oropeza, head of the Comando Con Vzla in Portuguesa. The regime kidnapped her from her home and subjected her to forced disappearance. Today she is in the largest torture center in Latin America. We demand her freedom,” wrote Vente in X.
On August 16, lawyer Omar Mora Tosta reportedwho after ten days without hearing anything from the leader of Vente Venezuela, were able to learn that she was being held in Helicoide and that she was charged with the crimes of terrorism and inciting hatred.

The Inter-American Commission on Human Rights (IACHR) granted precautionary measures to María Oropeza on August 11, after she was detained by officials of the General Directorate of Military Counterintelligence (DGCIM) on August 6.
The IACHR urged the Venezuelan State to adopt the necessary measures to protect the rights to life and personal integrity of Oropeza.
