The mobilization called “Global protest for the truth, Venezuela won“was called by the opposition leader Maria Corina Machado and former presidential candidate Edmundo González to take place in various cities in Venezuela and other countries, including Mexico City.

Since noon, hundreds of Venezuelans in Mexico gathered around the Monument to the Revolution with sound equipment, from which they encouraged attendees to sing their national anthem and to shout slogans against the government of Nicolás Maduro.

“Until the end, until the end,” were the choruses that could be heard among some of the attendees.

Some of the banners that were read at the protest site were: “Long live Venezuela, freedom”; “Freedom for Venezuela”; “Out with Nicolás Maduro” and “No to the dictatorship of Nicolás Maduro.”

The demonstration took place simultaneously in several cities in Venezuela, Colombia, Argentina, Brazil, Mexico, Spain and in Los Angeles and New York in the United States.
