Venezuelans collect signatures to activate the Inter-American Treaty of Reciprocal Assistance

The aforementioned association requests military intervention in the face of the political and social crisis that Venezuela is experiencingdue to the “electoral fraud” of the Nicolás Maduro regime, for this reason he urged citizens of different countries to join the collection of signatures to activate the TIAR.

Pedro César Rivero, coordinator of the organization, said that this will allow the restoration of “the rule of law, since all possible conciliatory and diplomatic avenues have been exhausted.” “Unfortunately, we do not have armed forces to support us,” referred.

The Inter-American Treaty of Reciprocal Assistance was signed in 1947 in Rio de Janeiro, during the Inter-American Conference for the Maintenance of Peace and Security in the Continent. Member countries agree to agree on their actions against a State that attacks another member. The document recognizes responses to attacks, from economic sanctions to the use of force in an act of collective defense.

The agreement also allows action to be taken against any other fact or situation that could endanger the peace of America.
