The Federation of Chambers and Associations of Commerce and Production of Venezuela (Fedecamaras), main employer of the country, demanded this Wednesday that resume formal trade relations with Colombiasomething that he described as “peremptory”.
“We are going to help identify the region’s potentialities and the Possible solutions to this long closure of the formal commercial exchange between Venezuela and Colombia and try to draw attention to what is necessary, important, peremptory, pertinent, that they return to resume business relations“, said the president of Fedecamaras, Carlos Fernández, quoted in a statement.
The head of the Venezuelan employers also requested that “the transit of people between the two countries” be reopened.
In this sense, Fernández asked that the authorities of both countries set up a dialogue table to move towards a solution and denounced that the border crossing remains suspended for the passage of vehicles.
The Senate of Colombia unanimously approved in October of last year a proposal that seeks a diplomatic and commercial rapprochement with Venezuelapresented by Senator Jorge Guevara, of the Alianza Verde party, decision that was communicated by the president of the National Assembly (AN, Parliament) of Venezuela, Jorge Rodríguez.
