The National Anti-Drug Superintendent, M/G Ferrer Sandrea, stressed that Venezuela continues to be a hostile territory for drug trafficking, thanks to the early warnings implemented by the State. Furthermore, he emphasized that “public policies not only focus on interdiction, but also on prevention through cultural and sports activities in schools and communities.”
In this sense, he pointed out that as part of the fight against illicit drug trafficking so far in 2025, 63,129.779 kg of drugs have been seized and in the preparation of the National Anti-Drug Plan 2026-2031.
The information was announced during a review of the progress and strategies implemented in the preparation of the National Anti-Drug Plan 2026-2031, where the high popular participation stood out.
The Major General highlighted the efforts of the Venezuelan State to combat trafficking and promote the prevention of misuse and consumption of illicit substances, in order to guarantee a healthy and drug-free society.
“These actions are part of a comprehensive strategy that includes the fight against micro-trafficking and the application of popular intelligence in the communities,” said the Superintendent.
Design of the National Anti-Drug Plan Advances
The Superintendent reported that more than 60 thousand popular consultations have been held in the national territory, with a greater participation in Anzoátegui, Barinas, Lara, Miranda, Zulia and the Capital District.
“We have carried out more than 60 thousand popular consultations in the national territory, with greater participation in Anzoátegui, Barinas, Lara, Miranda, Zulia and the Capital District, which reflects an important commitment of our people in the construction of effective policies (…) nothing is more powerful than the people,” reported M/G Danny Ferrer Sandrea.
Likewise, the Superintendent highlighted the importance of international collaboration and denounced warlike actions and violations of international rights by foreign powers that try to destabilize Venezuela. In this sense, he reiterated the country’s commitment to protecting its sovereignty and combating international mafias that seek to use Venezuelan territory as a route for illicit trafficking.
Finally, MG Ferrer Sandrea invited the population to participate in cultural activities such as “Drums for Life and Peace”, a project that connects with the country’s preventive policies and promotes a message of unity and hope.
These actions comply with Vertex No. 2 of the Great Peace Quadrants Mission, which orders the fight against illicit drug trafficking, as indicated by the Sectoral Vice President of Politics, Citizen Security and Peace, Captain Diosdado Cabello.
