The Venezuelan State delegation designated for dialogue with the most extremist sector of the opposition arrived in Mexico this Friday, with a view to signing the second partial agreement with the so-called PU Unitary Platform, a memorandum of understanding that will allow the unblocking of huge Venezuelan resources illegally. kidnapped by unilateral coercive measures promoted by the blockade from the US and its allies.
The delegation, headed by the president of the National Assembly (AN), Jorge Rodríguez, arrived in the Mexican capital to sign the text that was developed for months in an unpublicized dialogue that was mediated by the Kingdom of Norway.
Upon his arrival, Rodríguez highlighted “the right that we Venezuelans have to live in peace, to project into the future all the expectations we have, regardless of how we think, of what our economic, cultural and social activity is,” he said.
The parliamentarian also stressed that Venezuelans “are interested in peace, in that our issues be resolved through discussion and dialogue within the framework that the Constitution gives us and in prosperity,” and hoped that “these dialogue processes projected into the future.”
The president of the Parliament thanked the Government of Mexico for the hospitality, and asserted that this delegation was fulfilling “its role of defending peace.”
The delegation is also made up of Camilla Fabri, human rights defender and wife of diplomat Alex Sabb; illegally detained by the US government in violation of United Nations conventions. It is worth noting that Fabri’s presence in the delegation is a strong message from the Bolivarian government regarding the unwavering decision of President Nicolás Maduro to enforce international law and claim the right to freedom of the diplomatic representative of Venezuela.
Deputy Jorge Rodríguez presented to the press the role played by each of the members of the delegation, which is also made up of the Minister for Science and Technology, Gabriela Jiménez; the deputy to the AN, Génesis Garbet; the also deputy Nicolás Maduro Guerra; the Vice Minister of Anti-Blockade Policies, William Castillo; the Minister of Labor, Francisco Torrealba; the Minister for Women and Gender Equality, Diva Guzmán and the lawyer Larry Davoe.
It is worth remembering that Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro stressed on Thursday that the continuation of the dialogue with the most extremist sector of the opposition will allow the recovery of part of the resources kidnapped by the United States, which when released will allow urgent needs of Venezuela to be met due to the rains and also to correct part of the effects due to the disinvestment that the criminal blockade forced, which affected the acquisition of medicines and food, among other aspects that have harmed the Venezuelan people in the enjoyment of their fundamental rights.
