The year 2025 has been marked by the effects of the climatic crisis in the country, causing floods and overflows of rivers, to which the recent seismic activity recorded in the past days is added. Given this, the Venezuelan Red Cross underlines the need to strengthen risk management and collective preparation against natural emergencies, announcing the development of a coordinated work agenda with the national authorities, always with adherence to its principles of neutrality, independence and impartiality.
He president From the Venezuelan Red Cross, Luis Manuel Farías, stressed that the institution, through its volunteer network, will promote prevention and training programs in schools, universities and communities, with the aim of promoting the culture of self -protection and resilience. “
These initiatives will include evacuation drills, first aid workshops and awareness campaigns, aimed at reducing the vulnerability of the population.
Farías proudly remembered the legacy of the Red Cross School Brigades, which for decades formed generations of young people in first aid and risk management, contributing to consolidate a more conscious and prepared society before emergencies. In this sense, he warned the Need to strengthen citizen consciousness against the challenges imposed by climate crisis and natural disasters.
