The Venezuelan Prison Observatory (OVP) denounced that this Sunday, May 1, a a riot in the dungeons Bolivarian National Police (PNB) in the state Carabobo. Unofficially met that they have two police officers kidnapped, who are wounded. Officials tried to negotiate with the inmates, but to no avail.

The organization detailed on its Twitter account that on Saturday, April 30 A prisoner suffering from diabetes died in the same center. According to police sources, there are 47 inmates who staged the riot. The center houses 251 prisoners, who demand transfers to prisons and respect for their human rights.

Relatives of the detainees arrived at the place and stated that they did not know the reasons for the riot, at the same time they expressed that the violations of the human rights of the inmates are constant. They denounced that in a prison cell there are up to 50 people. One woman said that their hands were tied and they were uninformed because no one had told them anything. “They only told us that four relatives should come by, they didn’t say why or for what.”
