“The people must prepare in the protocols before any situation,” said the sectorial vice president of Politics, Citizen Security and Peace, Diosdado Cabello, from Higuerote, Brión municipality of the Miranda State, during the drill in the face of the possibility of natural disasters and armed conflicts. The objective is to guarantee the protection of the national territory to any seismic movement or imperial threat.
During the day, Cabello stressed the importance of strengthening the capacity to respond to unexpected events and urged Venezuelan youth to join the training programs of the National Experimental Security University (UNES), stating that “the National Experimental University of Security, opened its doors for Venezuelan youth, not only to be a police officer, but to be firefighters”.
The Sector Vice President also emphasized the need to include content on prevention and emergencies in the educational system. “We want, now, that the people are empowered from these techniques, we have experts in Civil Protection, we have experts in firefighters, we have experts in state agencies, in police forces, in our Bolivarian National Armed Forces that have come out to share it with the people, so that the people learn.”
Cabello reiterated that citizen preparation is key to face any contingency, natural or caused. “We prepare for that, so that, if tomorrow there is an event caused to harm the people, we are able to react firmly, with controlled nerves, because that is another of the things that happens,” he said, while insisted on the need to keep calm and follow precise instructions in risk situations.
In his speech, he explained that training must include the recognition of different types of emergency. “A fire of wood material is different from a fire where a bottle exploded. A fire caused by explosive material that occurs, for example, the gunpowder generates fire in its explosion and then generates a fire. The people must, in these initial tasks, differentiate prevention measures, are not always the same for any event.”
Cabello valued the commitment of the rescue and emergency care forces “the detachment of our firefighters, our civil protection, officials and officials who are able to expose their own life to save the life of a person, who do not know in most cases, and do so with detachment and with love, detach themselves from the most sacred thing that is their life, one is a very highly Christian behavior”.
He also pointed out that in emergency situations there are no ideological distinctions. “There are no political colors, when a person is being rescued, he is being treated from an accident, of a fire, there are no political colors of any kind, there is a willingness to help someone.”
