Venezuelan murdered with two months of pregnancy in Antioquia

A young Venezuelan woman identified as Carolina Díaz Chiquinquirá, 22, was found dead in a house in the municipality of Maceo, in the Magdalena Medio subregion, specifically in the El Plan dos neighborhood of Antioquia, Colombia.

According to the judicial inspection carried out, the body of the Venezuelan He presented lacerations around his neck, apparently caused by a strap or lace, but this item was not found at the crime scene.

“This person lived alone and worked as a waitress in a cafeteria and for several weeks had problems with his former sentimental partner,” said Major Gustavo Adolfo Pérez Arias, commander of the Segovia Police, reported the website of Week.

The Prosecutor’s Office advances in the investigations to find those responsible for this crime that has dismayed the inhabitants of the Maceo municipality.

The technical inspection of the victim’s corpse was carried out by personnel from the Cisneros CTI.

It is ruled out that the murder It was for reasons of passion, because her husband appeared before the authorities to make the facts known.

However, investigations are progressing to find the person or persons responsible for this crime.

Abuses of women in Antioquia

Cases like that of the young Carolina join the concern about the disappearance and sexual abuse of women in Antioquia.

Only during the year 2021 in Antioquia, 705 disappearances were reported according to the National Institute of Legal Medicine and Forensic Sciences, of which 252 were girls and women; that is to say 36%.

Of these 252, a total of 123 were girls and under 18 years of age and 129 were women of legal age.

Of the 252 women who were reported missing during 2021, nine were found dead and 78 are still missing. Additionally, 13 of these cases were registered as forced disappearances.

For their part, 92 women have been reported as missing in the department of Antioquia, between January 1 and June 30, 2022, which corresponds to 31% of the total disappearances reported in this first semester.

Of the 92 cases, 45 are girls and adolescents under 18 years of age and 47 are women over 18 years of age.
