Venezuelan murdered at her residence in Manaus, Brazil

A 27-year-old Venezuelan woman identified as Yeimy Yenileth Vargas Rodríguez was stabbed to death on the afternoon of Tuesday, July 5, at her residence located in Asa Branca Alley, near Rio Negro Avenue, in the Mauazinho neighborhood of Manaus, Brazil.

“It was found that there was a physical struggle and that the victim received several stab wounds, mainly in the chest and arms, in an attempt to defend himself. Due to the large amount of blood, the suspects left footprints, which were collected by the experts and will help to clarify the case”, said Cristiano Castilho, delegate of the 14th Integrated Police District (DIP).

An amount of money in the possession of Yeimy and her husband could have been the motive for the crime, but it was not stolen by the author, according to the report of the Portal Tucuma of Brazil.

“This amount was still found on the kitnet. Maybe they asked her where she would be and she ended up not saying,” Castilho said.

According to witnesses, the Venezuelan was a manicurist, she was about two years old. Brazil and the money saved would be used to take her seven-year-old daughter who lives in Venezuela to Manaus.

The body of the Venezuelan was removed by the Legal Medical Institute (IML) and the case will be investigated by the Specialized Homicide and Kidnapping Police Station (DEHS).

Relatives of the Venezuelan, a native of El Tigre, Anzoátegui state, request financial help to bring Yeimy’s body to Venezuela.
