In an emotional letter addressed to the First Lady of the United States (USA), Melania Trump, the Heroin Mothers Movement cried out for the release of the 66 sons and daughters who have been taken away in the midst of the immigration offensive that the Republican Administration carries out.
These children and adolescents, aged between just 5 months and 17 years of age, were unfairly separated from their mothers during deportation flights, suffering the consequences of the breakdown of family stability for political reasons.
«Can you be calm a minute without knowing your son’s whereabouts? Would you sleep peacefully without knowing if you ate or how does it feel? We fail to advance without having them close, ”express these mothers and grandmothers in a moving letter.
“Today we lift our voices on behalf of our families and the love of mother, justice, and human rights, to ask for their attention to a tragedy that has been hidden from the deployment of policy against migrants in the territory of the United States that ignores the impact it has generated on the dismemberment of whole families and settles further by the separation of children from their mothers,” they express in the text.
The group of mothers and grandmothers asked to listen to the request of families who still expect the return of their children, reiterating their request that mothers are deported with their children.
Called to Justice and Humanity
They made a special call to the president’s wife: «Mrs. Melania, you are a mother, and you have publicly advocated the welfare of children in the world. We ask you as mothers to raise our voice, to help our children return to their homes, to be a bridge for justice and humanity that you invoke you.
“We ask you to listen to the clamor of families, that this separation policy does not continue to happen, that they simply deport mothers with their children.”

The country’s authorities have repeatedly denounced the kidnapping of Venezuelan children by the US government. To this are added the numerous marches made in the country to demand that minors be returned to their families.
