The Venezuelan migrants who find in Chile with an expired passport, or who do not have the documents required to leave that territory, must request a travel document from the Venezuelan Embassy in that country.
The measure came into force on July 1, according to the statement published in Twitter by the Embassy.
This document must be requested at least 10 business days prior to the date of travel.
To process the safe-conduct, Venezuelan migrants must enter the System for Obtaining Consular Documents, on the page of the Embassy of Venezuela in Chile.
There they have to click on the Travel Document tab. Then they must book their appointment to consign the documents and pay the corresponding fee.
The embassy also reported that on Tuesday, July 5, they will not attend any type of procedure and that the appointments assigned for that day will be rescheduled, to commemorate the 211 years of Venezuela’s independence.

Venezuelans waiting for passports
As of June, around 63,000 Venezuelans in Chile were waiting for an appointment to renew their passports.
Given this situation, the Administrative Service for Identification, Migration and Immigration (Saime) announced that it would send a delegation to help meet the high demand for documents in that country.
Gustavo Vizcaíno, director of the institution, also indicated that he would send personnel to other countries such as Peru, Ecuador and Spain, where many Venezuelans are also waiting for their documents.
