The Venezuelan lawyer Luis Alberto Rodríguez Villamizar requested before a court that the international capture against Marco Rubio, Secretary of State of the United States is processed.
The arrest warrant against Rubio was raised by Rodríguez Villamizar through a complaint (private accusation document) consigned to the Palace of Justice of Caracas, to which we had access.
Rodríguez Villamizar believes that the Secretary of State of the United States is incurred in a series of crimes contemplated in the Venezuelan Criminal Code among which is: attack on the integrity of the territory and against republican institutions; conspiracy against constitutional order, war favoring, as well as the crime of extermination established in the Rome Statute.
The complaint filed by the lawyer Rodríguez Villamizar also includes María Corina Machado, who in coordination with Marco Rubio has worked for the United States to ratify Venezuela the coercive measures that seek to drown the country’s economy.
That is why among the measures requested by Rodríguez Villamizar is the prohibition of departure from the country, as well as the arrest warrant in the case of María Corina Machado.
And in the case of Marco Rubio, Rodríguez Villamizar requested that the court to which the complaint be assigned, request a red notification, so that the International Police (Interpol) proceeds to their capture for extradition purposes.
When arguing his approach, Rodríguez Villamizar stressed that Machado and Rubio promoted the relaunch of the measures against Venezuela approved by US President Donald Trump.
” Unilateral and criminal sanctions imposed on the people of Venezuela, have caused a lot of damage to the Venezuelan population, avoiding access to food and medicines, which have caused thousands of deaths, women, adults and children, over the time that were imposed, ” says Rodríguez Villamizar.
He recalled that Machado has publicly declared that he is an ally of the United States government. And in compensation to this, the United States reimposed some sanctions to Venezuela after the Venezuelan authorities ratified the disqualification to exercise charges against María Corina Machado. ” It can be determined clearly and precisely, that there is complicity between the United States Government of North America and the citizen María Corina Machado, to reimpose the withdrawal sanctions and maintain those that are in full validity, sanctions that make up the crime against humanity, typified in the Rome Statute, such as the crime of extermination, being the citizen María Corina Machado complicit of said crime, sanctioned by said crime The International Criminal Court, ” Rodríguez Villamizar argued.
The complained lawyer explained that Marco Rubio’s nationality is not an impediment to be tried in Venezuela for the crime of betrayal of the homeland. In that sense, he stressed that article 128 of the Criminal Code does not attribute that crime solely and exclusively to Venezuelans; He speaks of “ Anyone who, according to country or foreign republic, external enemies, terrorist, paramilitary, insurgent or subversive associations, conspire against the integrity of the territory of the homeland or against their republican institutions, or harass them by any means for any of these purposes, will be punished with the penalty of prison of twenty to thirty years … ”.
