“Venezuelan-Iranian plane pilot is a member of the AI Quds forces”, according to Paraguayan intelligence

Paraguayan authorities informed the Argentine government about the legal situation of the Venezuelan plane

The Uruguayan government responded this Friday to the accusations of the Nicolás Maduro regime, after it issued a statement condemning Uruguay’s attitude of not allowing the landing of a Venezuelan-Iranian cargo plane on June 8

The Paraguayan intelligence minister, Esteban Aquino, assured this Friday that the pilot of the Venezuelan-Iranian plane that is paralyzed at the Ezeiza airport, Argentina, Gholamreza Ghasemi, is an active member of the AI Quds forces, a division of the Corps of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard specialized in asymmetric warfare and military intelligence operations.

“Indeed, that’s the way it is” affirmed the minister, “We must protect the lives of all our fellow citizens, of the entire region. So the presence of that person that I can tell you is that according to what we know and allied agencies confirmed to us, it is a person linked to Al Quds without any doubt. He is not similar, he is not a namesake or anything, he is the person and that without a doubt. This is worrying », he remarked.

In addition, he stressed that one cannot be “naive” and not carry out “the corresponding alerts when people who have been directly linked to that terror regime enter, whether in the transport of materials, technology, or weapons.”

«Captain Ghasemi has been here, in our territory and it is something that is still under investigation. Here the important thing is that we must decide which side to be on, we know that there are countries that finance and sponsor terrorism », he expressed in an interview, the Argentine media reported The clarin.

The Paraguayan official’s confirmation contradicts the versions of the Security Minister, Aníbal Fernández, and the head of the AFI, Agustín Rossi, who questioned the pilot’s belonging to the Iranian forces.

“For now, he is still a namesake of someone who is part of the Iranian revolutionary guard and nothing more than that,” Fernández said days ago when asked by the press.

Israel ‘worried’

The Embassy of Israel in Argentina spoke this Thursday expressing its “concern” about the presence in the country of the Venezuelan-Iranian plane, which is being investigated by the courts for alleged links to terrorism.

“This aircraft, which until recently was used by the Iranian company Mahan Air, landed in Argentina carrying a group of Iranian officials, including a senior executive of the Persian airline Qeshm Fars Air,” he said. the diplomatic instance in a statement, referring to the crew member of the plane identified as Gholamreza Ghasemi.

The State of Israel stated that it was “particularly concerned about the activity of the Iranian airlines Mahan Air and Qeshm Fars Air in Latin America, companies that are dedicated to arms trafficking and the transfer of people and equipment that operate for the Quads Force, the which are sanctioned by the United States for being involved in terrorist activities.

Israel’s concern is based on historical background, since on two occasions the Jewish community in Argentina was the victim of attacks attributed to Iranian terrorist groups: in 1992 against the Israeli Embassy in Buenos Aires and in 1994 against the Israeli Mutual Association. Argentina (AMIA), which left a total of 114 deceased.

“Recent events give an account of the sustained attempts of the Islamic Republic of Iran, through the Revolutionary Guards and the Quds Force, to continue consolidating its influence throughout the world, including in South America, as a base for terrorist actions on the continent. . This situation is added to other operations registered in recent months, such as the assassination attempt on Israeli citizens in the city of Bogotá by criminals who worked for the Quds Force in Colombia,” the Israeli embassy highlighted.

Uruguay responds

The Uruguayan government responded this Friday to the accusations of the Nicolás Maduro regime, after it issued a statement condemning Uruguay’s attitude of not allowing the landing of a Venezuelan-Iranian cargo plane on June 8, which later had to go to Argentina, where it was detained by the aeronautical authorities of that country.

“What is happening in Venezuela is political, not technical. And there was no humanitarian reason to allow the landing,” said sources from the Luis Lacalle Pou government.

Uruguayan government sources, however, warned that with this fuel the aircraft could fly “perfectly” for another hour. In addition, they pointed out that, when the takeoff of an airplane is authorized, “this is done by virtue of having enough fuel to reach its destination.” And not only that: “an alternate airport must also be established, to which it must have fuel not only to arrive, but also to fly for another 45 minutes.”

In the document, which the Venezuelan regime made public, it “categorically rejects the irresponsible management offered by the Uruguayan aeronautical authority, by revoking the overflight permit granted to the Venezuelan company Emtrasur, while the aircraft was in the air (… ) to make a technical scale of supply”.

Faced with this, he demanded from the Uruguayan government “explanations about this terrible event.”
