Jorman Godoy Palencia, 21 -year -old Venezuelan, died on Friday afternoon, February 7, receiving a beating after starring in an altercation with metropolitan police in the city of Guayaquil, in Ecuador.

The Mayor’s Office of Guayaquil, through its safe security company EP, said that the Venezuelan assaulted a municipal agent, so he was arrested and delivered to the police.
According to the Mayor’s Office, at the intersection of Calixto Romero and Chimborazo streets, a municipal control official was attacked by several informal merchants. In response to the incident, the emergency protocol was activated, which resulted in the arrest of one of the people involved. According to the official statement, they gave it alive to their relatives.

“If they say he went alive with his family, then that they get him alive (from the hospital), I saw how he was taken and now he is dead,” a relative of Godoy, cited by the Ecuadorian media.
The event has generated a deep dismay between merchants, friends and family of the young Venezuelan Jormoy Godoy Palencia, who was four years old in Ecuador.
A multitude of people gathered on the outskirts of the Bicentennial Hospital to express their pain and demand justice. The tension increased when the body was transferred by legal medicine, which made the intervention of the police necessary to avoid incidents, according to Ecuadorian media.
