Carlos Faría will speak before the plenary session of the UN this Saturday. Over the next few days, until the close of the general debate on September 26, Faría hopes to meet in New York with 30 other delegations to deliver his message and lobby for the removal of sanctions by the United States, since the most important measures are enforced by Washington
Venezuelan Foreign Minister Carlos Faría confirmed that this Saturday, September 24, he will speak at the 77th United Nations General Assembly (UN) to request that the sanctions that governments such as the United States apply to Venezuelan institutions and officials be abolished.
“We are going to have the opportunity to represent our country, to send the message of our country and of President Nicolás Maduro to the world. The main thing is to denounce the situation that has been affecting our people for several years, which are unilateral coercive measures », he stressed during a interview with telesur from New York, where the 77th UN General Assembly is taking place.
Faría celebrated the growth of the Venezuelan economy that Chavismo promotes in each speech, despite the fact that last year’s recovery has not even reached the size it had before the pandemic, and assured that growth is expected for the end of this year. annual rate of 20%, which could be higher were it not for the sanctions.
“President Nicolás Maduro’s instruction is to hold the largest number of bilateral meetings to get the message from Venezuela, about how its recovery is going and how unilateral coercive measures continue to affect it and that despite that, the news is very positive,” he stressed. .

This is the message that he brings to the delegations of other countries in the more than 40 bilateral meetings that he has held during his stay in New York. Its objective is to convince the representatives of other member countries of the need to withdraw the sanctions.
“We are transmitting our economic recovery to the delegations of other countries. This year Venezuela will have the largest economy in the region », he stressed.
During the next few days, until the close of the general debate of the UN General Assembly on September 26, Faría hopes to meet with 30 other delegations to carry his message and lobby for the removal of sanctions by the United States, since the most important measures are applied by Washington.
In this sense, Faría stressed that Venezuela is willing to start a dialogue with the United States and that a possible reconciliation was seen with the visit of the delegation from the government of Joe Biden last June, despite the fact that the meeting did not lead to clear measures in the short or medium term.
“The president constantly talks about dialogue, about his willingness to talk with anyone to normalize the situation in the country. That stands. Delegations from the United States have arrived, the president has listened to them and given concrete answers, especially with regard to energy supply, “he said.
In recent weeks, Maduro has offered both the United States and the European Union both gas and oil, in an attempt to take center stage in an energy market hit by the war between Russia and Ukraine. However, the supply seems complicated with the low levels of production maintained by Petróleos de Venezuela.
