The 19th edition of the Venezuelan Film Festival kicked off this Sunday, July 9, in the state of Mérida. The event will have 70 national productions, announced the president of the Foundation for the Development of Arts and Culture (Fundearc) and director of the Festival, Karina Gómez.
According to the spokesperson, 13 feature films, 11 documentaries, and 35 short films will participate, all of them in the fiction category. She explained that the evaluation will be in charge of 19 experts in cinematographic matters and there will be a projection of Cine Átomo.

The audiovisual projections will be screened at the César Reginfo Theater and at the Las Tapias Multicine. There are 700 participants from the country’s audiovisual schools and movie lovers registered.
According to Last Newsthe president of the National Autonomous Center for Cinematography (CNAC), Carlos Azpúrua, highlighted the harmonious and respectful work carried out with Fundearc and the articulation with the Ministries of Culture and Tourism and the Government of Mérida for the development of the festival.
For his part, the delegate of the National Autonomous Cinematography Center, Edgard Márquez, announced the possibility of showing a Venezuelan film at the highest point in the country to qualify for a Guinness record.
