The Venezuelan Electoral Council reported in the early minutes of Monday, July 29 that Nicolás Maduro won the election with 51% (5,150,092 votes). His main opponent, Edmundo Gonzalez Urrutia, obtained 42.2% (4,445,978 votes) of the votes.
