A man of Venezuelan nationality was provisionally detained and for extradition purposes for the crime of improper withholding of contributions to the detriment of the Social Security Fund (CSS).
The Section of Crimes against the Economic Order of the Regional Prosecutor’s Office of West Panama, in the hearing held on August 23, 2022, through the prosecutor Juan Gutiérrez, presented the elements of conviction based on the procedural risks, of evident danger of flight and affectation of means of evidence, in addition, he based his request on the Inter-American Convention on Extradition of February 25, 1981, where Panama and Venezuela are signatories, obtaining that the judge of guarantees Eduardo Escobar, admit the aforementioned precautionary measure.
