Venezuelan Church launches the 46th Share Campaign: What is it about?

In the time frame of lentthe Diocese of Ciudad Guayanaalong with National and diocesan Caritas, announced the launch of the 46th edition of the Share 2026 Campaignunder the motto “Heal the wound and embrace life”.

This initiative seeks go beyond financial collection to become a process of collective healing in the face of the social and emotional crisis that the country is going through.

The Bishop of the Diocese, Monsignor Carlos Cabezashighlighted that the campaign is carried out uninterruptedly since 1981 and coincides with the 40 days of preparation for Easterwith a focus on recognizing both visible and invisible scars in the reality of the Venezuelan.

Monsignor Cabezas stated that it is not about “putting a band-aid on the wound,” but about deeply heal problems such as hunger, lack of medicine, family separation due to migration, loneliness of the elderly and emotional exhaustion of communities.

The campaign is supported by studies such as Psychodata from the Andrés Bello Catholic University (UCAB)which reveals that 90% of the population suffers some type of deterioration in their mental health.

The Share Campaign invites us to transform isolation into communityand the Diocese has distributed teaching materials and liturgical subsidies in 40 parishes in its jurisdiction to work each day of Lent.

In addition to reaching the temples, The campaign is developed in apostolate groups, schools and universitieswith the purpose of raise funds for the medical assistance of the Diocese and promote a “collective therapeutic process” through forgiveness and solidarity.

For 46 years, The Share Campaign has been a key awareness-raising tool of the Venezuelan Catholic Church during Lentpromoting Christian charity and social justice.

Monsignor Cabezas concluded that To heal life it is necessary to let go of the pain of the past, walk together and embrace the life that the Lord gives.
