“We have daily, permanent communication with the Russian government. We have 25 years of military cooperation, we have had a large number of Venezuelan cadets and officers who have been trained in Russia,” said the president of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, highlighting the strength of the bilateral link in defense matters.
During his Con Maduro+ program, the head of state specified that the alliance also includes the presence of Russian officers in Venezuelan territory. “Likewise, Russian officials have come to Venezuela, where we have always had calm, serene and beneficial cooperation, and that will continue.”
He stressed that the international situation does not alter the country’s sovereign course. “The situation of threats against Venezuela makes it news, but we see how we continue calmly, because Venezuela continues on its path, and what we want for Venezuela is to win peace, the right to life, the happiness and joy of all our people.”
“We mess with nobody, let nobody mess with us; and with Russia we will continue celebrating our triumphs and all our efforts; because with Russia we will continue celebrating our triumphs and our efforts,” President Maduro reiterated.
It is worth mentioning that the Russian Federation ratified its support for the leadership of the Venezuelan people and condemned the interventionist actions of the United States in the Caribbean. The spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Maria Zajárova, denounced the “excessive use of military force” where these actions were violations of international law.
